Climbing...

Eowyn and Christopher went to the park yesterday and I asked him to bring the camera. I'm so glad I did! He made a fabulous little video/slideshow of Ewoyn's adventures...

I can't praise this enough!

Eowyn loves all music, and when she was a teeny baby we didn't worry about the lyrics, but when her favorite song became a catchy tune by Micheal Knott, about a woman and her alcohol struggles, we decided we need some kid music. Well, not as easy as you'd think, since most of it is quite painful to listen to...Enter Frances England and her fabulous CD, Fascinating Creatures!

I can't praise this enough. The songs are clever, catchy and FUN to listen to, for Ewoyn and the adults who join her! There is a song about a tricycle that mentions the Tour D' France, here is a link to a fun video using the song http://www.francesengland.com/video.htm , A fun little tune about Jazz Greats, "Charlie Parker". "Digging in the Dirt" explores gardening. A song about the worlds best breakfast food, "Blueberry Pancakes". For those who want to encourage reading with Children, you'll love "Books I like to Read"and my 3 favorite "Sometimes" which explores emotions, "Daddy-O" which is sung from the childs perspective, to their Daddy...so sweet...and "Paint a Picture" which Paints a touching word picture about family! Several other songs complete this CD that is a total must have for all children and their parents!

One hand only, please

Eowyn no longer desires two adult hands to assist her in walking. She only wants one! She's on her way to walking. She actually took a couple steps the other day, all by herself. It was an accident...the thing she was holding onto was further away from me then she thought it was so when she went to grab my leg she let go of her stable support and sort of did the jerky baby lunge, with legs in motion, thing, which qualified as 2 steps, on her own. She has been spotted standing alone for several seconds at a time, that may or may not have added up to 1/2 a minute.

She thinks she's pretty cool, and will often start talking to the dog as she's starting to move from one stable object to another. Maggie fains interest, but really just wants to be sure Eowyn is not going for anything that Maggie wants, like rocks, our shoes, her bone, though she has very little concern with Eowyn investigating her toys...Maggie is actually far more interested in Eowyn's toys then her own lately, and I think would rather trade, so sees "sharing with Eowyn" will acutally work in her favor.



Eowyn is talking to Maggie as she walks with Christopher...She's pretty proud of herself, as she carries her little lion (thank you Ellen). Maggie desires that Lion, too, by the way...

Like Father, Like Daughter...

Eowyn was very tired yesterday afternoon, and had avoided napping, depsite many offers for naps throughout the day. The sweet little girl was rubbing her eyes and looked ready to finally give in. Being naive parents we had a "brilliant" idea. We were going to go see Spiderman 3, I'd nurse Eowyn off to sleep when we got there, and we'd enjoy the film while holding a sweet sleeping baby. (you can stop laughing now...)

We got there and she nursed, as planned, closed her eyes, seemed to be fading off to sleep. Then she sat up, done nursing and started watching the movie! We spent the rest of the 2 1/2 hour film taking turns bouncing her, pacing in the back of the theater with her, and my nursing her. She was really good for a baby in a movie, that wasn't allowed to watch the screen because we didn't know if the "bad guys" would scare her.

When the scene took place in a Jazz Bar, Eowyn sang! When the fight scenes kicked in, she talked like she does when we are in busy stores or other places with lots of people. The two other couples that shared the theater with us, came over afterwards to meet Ewoyn, and tell her how good she was and how cute she is!

All worked out in the end, but we will be getting a baby sitter the next time we want to go to a movie!

The girl has rhythm!

Eowyn is a very musical child. I'm not claiming prodigy (yet) or anything, but she has wowed her dad and I quite a bit. She is certainly drawn to music, and most specifically bass... We have encouraged her enthusiasm by giving her a nice range of musical influences, some musical instruments and she and I recently started going to a music class, called "Music Together". It is an international program for kids and music. It's a great concept, and our specific instructor is excellent. We are having lots of fun! Eowyn's little friend, Carrigan, from mom's group, attends, as well.

Here are the two of them playing with stick to one of the songs. Eowyn was even keeping in rhythm for chunks at a time. Maybe my drum set won't collect dust it's whole life...

Her first Natural Disaster...

A "state of emergency" has been declared for our part of the state. Flooding, serious power outages, and the rain has started up again! While the rain took a break today, Eowyn, Grammy, Grampa and Mom all went for a walk up the road to check on the bridge. We doubt we'll be going anywere for a couple days. Here are some pics...

Blend it for Baby

I have started making Ewoyn's baby food! It's very fun really. I made Broccoli, Green Beans, Peas and a mix of the three in about 45 minutes, the other day. That was enough for, probably a couple weeks...I blended the veggies, put them in ice trays, let them set and popped them in freezer bags. It was great. I have a few recipes that I'm looking forward to trying next week after I pick up the organic ingredients. A citrus couscous that I think I may make extra of and serve with steak for christopher and I. The recipe came from this fabulous book:



The book doesn't just contain yummy recipes, it also has helpful information in regards to feeding your child, like what foods contain the best 'stuff' for babies, as well as, what not to serve them...like Honey. You should not serve honey to children under the age of 1 because it contains a bacteria that could be harmful to the young immune systems of infants...why have I never heard that? Dogs not eating chocolate, that's everywhere, but honey and babies...well, now you know.

Nunchuck Skills, Computer Hacking Skills, Photoshop Skills...

For Easter, I decided to do some pretty photos of Eowyn in a fancy dress holding some flowers and put them together for the grandma's. Well, Eowyn just wanted to eat the flowers, so I had to get creative.

First Trip to the Park

Yesterday was a beautiful day, sun shining, birds singing, kind of day. We had been driving a lot and Eowyn was becoming disenchanted with her fabulous car seat. So spying a park along our journies, Grammy, Eowyn and I stopped for a little break! Eowyn had a great time. She loved the swing, and was very proud of herself, when she climbed the stairs (with help from mommy), to go down the slide. It was a lot of fun to explore a park from Eowyn's perspective! This is going to be a fun summer.

8 months!

Eowyn is 8 months old today!

Christopher had the day off from work, so we caught up on some things around the house, then ventured to Newington for a nice afternoon walk, capping the day off with a fun trip to Barnes and Noble. Eowyn helped Christopher gather copies of "Dracula" for the kids at school to borrow, as they are reading it this semester in the 10th grade. She browsed Knitting books with me...then to the cafe for some reading of kids books!

We found a wonderful series of books by James Mayhew. Katie is the main character and she takes trips to the art museum with her nap prone Grandma...Grandma naps and Katie explores the artwork, up close and personal. Not in a mischevious, destructive way that generally happens in books when the adult in charge naps. Rather she becomes part of the piece and has adventures with the other subjects. They are adorable. The store only had two different books in the series of 5, but we found copies of the rest on Amazon.com. I'll be adding them to "Eowyn's Library", since we did buy the whole series. They are amazing!

Right after this surreal image of Daddy and daughter reading together in Barnes and Noble was taken, Eowyn promptly started trying to eat the book...They are reading "Seen Art" by Jon Scieszka...the author of such greats as "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" and "Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales". "Seen Art is another trip to the Art Museum, specifically MOMA, for the main character. Yes, we added that one to Eowyn's Collection, too.

Happy Birthday Great Grammy!

Eowyn went to her Great Grammy's 82nd Birthday party today! She was a little fussy, due to the teething thing, but she still said hi to her grammy and looked darn cute in her flowered hat! Thank you Beth for taking this sweet pic of the birthday girl and her Great Granddaughter!

The workin' girl

I say I'm a work at home mom, and while I guess that is the best way to describe what I do, it's not entirely accurate. I run an online business, and since the store is online, I can do most of the management from home. But there is still a lot of running around, going to suppliers, checking with the employees, helping with manufacturing, and I'll stop there, before I get tired just thinking about all I do. Well, I kept thinking that when Eowyn was "a little older" she'd be easier to bring to work. What really happens is she's different to bring to work. The infant who used to cry if I put her down in the office, is gone (mostly) but the busy baby who wants to move has arrived...less noisy, but equally challenging. I did find she was happy to keep herself occupied while playing with the boxes of orders to ship, while being coralled in a USPS tote. Here's the working girl...

Brown Bear

Another knitted toy! This time I got the pattern from a seller, Purl, on www.Etsy.com! A great pattern, easy to follow and lots of fun. I modified a little. The pattern called for felt (that cheap craft stuff) for the ears and the flowered eyes. I instead knit a swatch of cloth for each color, felted and cut them from that. Sure, do think I'm pretty clever. The hands have bells in them to make for a hard chewing surface, which is a big plus in Eowyn's book...teeth are on their way. I'll brag a little and point out that I made the dress she's wearing in the picture, too!

Crawling!

Well, learning to stand proved to delay Eowyn from Crawling. It seemed every time she started to get up on her knees to crawl, she'd keep straightening her legs, in an attempt to stand instead. She finally made the change from the "army crawl", to full on crawling. She did so on her 7 month birthday 3/9, and it was caught on "film"!! I have been very fortunate to have the little camera around at the milestones. So here is the sweet baby girl, crawling, on her knees, and in a dress!! Nothing is stopping her now...well except a well placed baby gate!

Double Sweet!

We saw a little girl (about 2 1/2) at my favorite local yarn store and she had an extremely cool doll. Well, with the little information the mom had about the origin I finally found it online...I love the internet...and we had one made for Eowyn. The artist, Sara, is wonderful to work with, and they whole thing is hand made, from the hand painted faces to the removable dress. Her workmanship is great and the fact it's a bit bazarre is even better! Here are "The Sisters", as named by Christopher...

Standing Alone...

Independence is something we will be striving to instill in our daughter. Not the kind that makes her think she needs no one and relies only on herself, but rather the kind that helps her to see how wonderful she has been created, and that who she is is not dependent on other people, but rather on her Creator and how much she allows that to influence her life. Christopher and I both believe that a strong understanding of who you are created to be will determine a truely happy and fulfilled life, which is what we most want for our daughter.

Well, that is the philisophical view on her independence, and then there is the practicality of learning new things and doing things on her own...Like tonight, when she scooted (still not crawling in the traditional sense) to the Excersaucer and pulled herself up from a laying position to full on standing, with no adult safety net behind her. Doesn't she look proud of herself, as she smiles up at her daddy (off camera)! Our little "One Girl Army" is ready to conquer the world, or at least the Excersaucer.

Investigator and conqueror of random household items...

Eowyn has a myriad of toys. I have made her a bunch, people have bought her a bunch, I've bought her some too...but sometimes, they just don't "do it for her"... when fussiness overtakes the Sweet Baby Girl, and I know she's been fed, changed and isn't tired...what is a mom to do? Go do the kitchen of course...no not for a swig of cooking sherry, but for a random household item. Eowyn loves to investigate, and try to fit new and exciting things into her mouth. It may look like this Rubbermaid storage container has the upper hand, but look closely and you will see Eowyn has it right where she wants it...

Sleeping "comfortably"

When we worked at the Group Home, Christopher hypothesized a theory, that you could know for sure one of the girls was actually sleeping if there is no way you could possibly be comfortable in the position they were laying in...Well, Eowyn wasn't faking at naptime yesterday, either. Our little human pretzel has taken to sleep in the most bizarre positions. She has been in the safe "Back Position" her whole life, and now that she's got some control of her amazing ab muscles, she never stays on her back anymore.

How did she get such amazing abs? her dad and she work out almost every day, together. Christopher has a whole series of exercises that he does with Eowyn, using her as the weight. It's very cute... she has her own set, situps, with the help of Daddy's fingers. She really enojoys her workout with dad, so hopefully she'll maintain that habit for a healthy lifestyle, as she grows!

Finally starting the scrapbook!

I am a hobbyist, for sure, but one of my many, is certainly shopping. I love to shop for my hobbies, in particular. I have purchased a bunch of fabulous pens, papers, stickers and some great photo album binders and the way cool cutting tools...all the things I will need to make an amazing journalled album of Eowyn's life. But, she's 6 months old, and I have not lifted a single glue stick or cropped even one picture. So, with the recent tragedy averted, I decided I'm motivated to start. I have all the pictures we've taken of her in a file, by date of photo, so I can easily pull off the first month, or first six months of her life. Today, I printed almost 100 pictures of her 15 days! Sure most of them are of her sleeping, but really, which one would you pick? I see some montage pages...

Butterfly!

I love making toys for Eowyn. I have made some clothing items too, but she's growing so fast and with spring around the corner, I decided if I'm going to knit, for now it will be toys...Soon I'll start for next fall and winter, but for now, I'm having a great time making toys. This is the newest one. I actually felted an old sweater for the underside of the wings, instead of the polyester craft "felt". I'm excited with how it came out. I also put some bells in the body as I stuffed it to make it more fun! Eowyn liked it, but I didn't get a picture of her with it yet. Here it is on it's own though...

The pattern came from the book that Eowyn (Christopher) bought for me for Christmas, Knitted Toys: 25 Fresh and Fabulous Designs by Zoe Moeller. I have to say, I would make at least 15 out of the 25, no questions asked, and the rest I am considering! This book is great, so if you knit, or know someone that does, and you want to make some cool toys, check it out!

Valentines Day 2007

Eowyn's first Valentine's Day was also her first Blizzard. New Hampshire was covered with over a foot of snow.

I got new software when I got my computer replaced and I was having fun with it...

What would we do...

So water spilled on my computer last night. Thankfully my mom was around and grabbed it, tipped it upside down and let the water drain out, because the water did not reach my hard drive. Phew...



After all, such things would be a nightmare for most anyone, right...well, all the more since I am horrible at backing up my computer and EVERY picture we have ever taken of the Sweet Baby Girl is in that hard drive. I was sick with worry until I arrived at Best Buy where they removed the drive, were able to recover all the data...and, because we have the "accidental extended warranty", I am now typing to you from a brand new computer!



Yes, I am going to back up my computer more often now...but it did get me thinking about all the ways you could lose every picture you had taken of your baby, and how horrible that would be...Thanking God today for all He's given us, including an answer of "yes" to the repeated prayer of a mother..."Please let all those pictures be safe".



Next on my agenda, to start printing out those pictures and putting together her scrapbook before she turns 1 year old!



Oh, I can't leave you without a picture, after all the talk of them... This one is a little blurry, but I love it all the same. She is trying to stuff a ball, that is on her excersaucer, that is a bit larger then a golf ball, into her mouth...She expends so much energy on such things. It really makes you wonder what she'll put her mind to once she can control much more of her environment.

Poor Maggie...

Maggie's world has been turned upside down. She is awakened at all hours of the night, she has a little person scooting across the floor wanting to pat her (which inevitably ends in the baby grabbing her fur, more then patting), there are toys everywhere (that she is not allowed to chew), and then the ever tempting baby socks that find their way misteriously into the living room. We are doing our best to make her life as good as it can be, and as close to "pre baby" as possible, and she's been a real trooper. Pretty patient, and affectionate towards the baby. However, this pic really kind of exemplifies the puppy wuppy's new world...

6 months old!

Sweet Baby Girl is now 6 months old... Her "birthday" was 2/9.

She's pretty excited! She's ready to take the world by storm...we hope it takes her a bit longer to get the balance thing down. But I do need to start looking for a new pair of jogging sneaks!

June the Bug

I made Eowyn this little stuffed animal...When I had finished, my hubby introduced the new toy to her...he said, in a very deep voice, "Hi Eowyn, I'm June, June the Bug". So this little Bug, made of wool and organic stuffing, is a boy named June...

By the way, Ewoyn loves him! She has started to felt one of his legs from all her sucking.

So many fingers, so little time...

Eowyn is a dyed in the wool finger sucker. She found her own during her first few hours of life, and since then she has tried to sample any that make their way near her mouth. Here she is with her Uncle Kenny, her newest digit donor...

Doesn't everyone love Grover...

You may remember from my Poop on Me Elmo post that we are not fans of licensed Characters. Well, recently one of Eowyn's Uncles gave her a Grover. Christopher and I both had to admit, that there is a special spot in our childhood hearts for the Blue Furry Lovable Moster! So while we will not be redoing the nursery with the Blue fella' (Which would likely be difficult, anyway, because of how much Elmo has really bullied his small voiced way into the limelight, making Grover stuff more difficult to find) we did, as did Eowyn, appreciate the little furry gift. Eowyn loves sucking on him and he's just the right baby grabbing size! Thank you Kevin.

Eowyn loves to play with Grampa, and if he tells her she's "Lookin' good" she will usually give him a big smile! Here they are playing together and she is giving her tighlipped grin that Grampa is so fond of! This is also now the basis for her bubble blowing trick...she drools just a little, tightens her lips and blows bubbles in her drool...sounds gross, but on the Sweet Baby Girl it's really quite adorable!

A month of milestones!

Rolling, rolling, rolling, keep that baby rolling... Eowyn now rolls as a mode of transportation. She realized in the beginning of the month that she could roll, and it took only a few short days to figure out that she could use this to her advantage, and she was off and rolling in no time!

She needs to get help sitting up, but once she has assumed the position, she can stay there pretty steadily for several minutes at a time. She has even learned to brace herself with her arm if she starts to tilt to the side...tilting backwards is a sure fire trip to the floor, so she can not be left unattended while sitting. She keeps trying to pull herself up. If you give her fingers to hold onto she immediately pulls herself up to a standing position. She can stand if she's holding onto something, but as with the sitting, she still needs constant attention to be sure she doesn't drift to the floor.

What will she turn out like...?

If you let her do it as an infant will that make her more or less inclined to do it as a teenager...and is Pink hair going to be cool when she's a teenager. I don't know the answer to either of those questions, but I do know that this little item that my hubby got for me/the baby for Christmas from www.babytoupee.com is really darn cute and makes for great pictures!!

Loving her rattle...

I've been wondering if Eowyn was ever going to like toys. I mean, I figured eventually, but so far all she's ever cared about is her hands. Recently she found her feet, and now she has decided she likes this rattle. Her "great aunt" Ann (my dad's sister) made this very cool diaper cake for her just before she was born and this rattle was one of the things she decorated it with. Eowyn used the diapers with glee, but would not play with the toys...hehehe...until now. Thank you Ann, she loves this thing!

Will they have a book to make her feel normal?

I was reading a post on a forum I go to from time to time. They were talking about how the new statistic for births in the US is that 4 out of 10 babies are born to parents who are not married to each other. That is an all time high.

That got me thinking about how many times, when an unconventional lifestyle starts to gain popularity, childrens books come out about the topic to make kids feel more "normal". This led me to ponder; how many kids in the US are not only born to married parents, but the mom and dad of said child, both have intact birth parents? Making this child only have one set of parents and only two sets of grandparents...no steps. Eowyn, actually has intact couples as far back as anyone alive can recall... I think by the time she's of school age, she may need a book...

Milestones...do I like them?

Well, Eowyn has found her feet, and likes to grab her toes while she's being changed. She is grabbing and holding on to things much more, and with greater control. Yesterday she was in a lounging position, and pulled herself to a sitting position...she promptly flopped to the side, but still, she pulled herself up! She seemed to realize this was a great accomplishment and is happy to try again whenever given the chance. She's not crawling, but she can push herself up from a flat on her belly position, with her hands, but her knees don't quite make it...she does seem to realize that is what needs to happen next. I'm not sure I like this...everyone said that they grow up very fast, and I knew they were probably right...but wow!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great holiday! I hope you did too. We went to Christopher's parents house. His brother and his wife recently moved out of town, and were home for the holiday. It was great to see them! Eowyn was sporting a very cute "1st Thanksgiving" Bib, compliments of Christopher's Parents. She had a great time being passed around and playing with everyone! Check out those bright blue eyes!! I can't believe she's 3 1/2 months old!!

First Play Date

Julie and I were in the same birthing class and then we were in the same New Mom's group. Here little girl, Josie, is only a little younger then Eowyn. The other day Julie and I took the girls along on a lunch date, then back to Julie's for some "play time"...which at this point consists of the babies laying on a blanket next to each other. They looked at each other a little,
then their hands brushed up against each other while they were flailing them around. They grabbed hands and were sort of holding each other...then Little Josie found her hand had migrated to a very happy Eowyn's mouth!! I'm telling you EVERYTHING is going in that mouth right now...Josie was very gracious, and we had a nice time... Here are some pics of the girls.

Just another manic monday...

That song makes me think of working and that has been what I've been doing this week and last...going to the office. I am training a new employee so I've needed to go to work and not bring Eowyn (unlike my usual working from home while I hang out with her). Well, her grandmother's have been very happy to help watch her while I work, which has been great! Grammy Ouellette loves to take pics and has gotten some really fabulous shots...but is there really a bad picture of such a cute baby...hehehe...

Grammy McGuyver...

We left Eowyn alone with Grammy Waterhouse for the first time on October 15th. We were going to a town meeting (nothing fun by the way) and were in a hurry. We go to my parents most nights so there was very little instruction necessary so we dropped of the baby and her stuff (or so we thought) and ran off to the meeting. Well, upon returning my mother informed me that we did not leave a diaper bag...so I could not complain about the baby's diaper... Grammy had fashioned a clean diaper by wrapping a hand towel (she even used a pretty one that said "joy" on it) on like a good ole' fashioned cloth diaper. .

Then she needed "rubber pants", and the light bulb went on and a Market Basket shopping bag fit the bill. The Sweet Baby Girl loved her makeshift undergarments...everytime she wiggled her butt crinkled and she'd grin

First Concert

Eowyn went to her first concert on October 21st. We went to see Mitch McVicker. It was a free concert in town so it was the perfect way to find out how Eowyn would do at a concert...if she didn't like it we weren't out anything. About 5 songs in the power went out, so they continued accoustically. Eowyn enjoyed it, and she looked so adorable in her Johnny Cash onsie, with the black offset by her cute pink and white tutu...Here she is dancing in her daddy's arms.

No tears...well, not from us...

Okay, it took 20 minutes of crying, but there is no crying from the other room. And Christopher and I are pretty proud of the fact we did not cry...will we do this again, not sure...

Let the baby cry...

So we went to the doctors for her 2 month check up...I hate going to the doctors for myself, and frankly I am not liking going with Eowyn for her appoinments any better. The doctor checked her over and then asked us questions, like how she's eating (the fact that she's almost doubled her birth weight in 2 months I think speaks for itself...), does she smile at you, does she make eye contact...that was all fine...then how is she sleeping? We proceed to tell him, that she's sleeping fine, once she gets to sleep, but she wants to be up from midnight to 2am...after that she sleeps for 6-7 hours in a row...the Doctor looked at us, especially my husband who was holding the baby and doing deep knee bends to calm Eowyn as she was a little fussy from the pocking and prodding the Dr. had done... I guess he saw "new parents doting on their baby" written all over us and proceeded to give us some advice. As I am typing I am following this advice and frankly hating it..."Feed her, change her and cuddle her for a little while, then put her to bed. If she cries, which she will, let her. Do not go in and pick her up. She'll cry less each night and eventually you will have a baby who goes to sleep when you put her down." Well, she's been crying for 15 minutes...more then she cries in a given week, total...well, maybe 1/2 the time she cries in a given week...I guess the good news is I am not crying...I hate this.

Knitted Smock

I love this smock!! I found it while surfing the web for knitting patterns one night and HAD to make it. I did and I am very pleased with how it came out. Eowyn is wearing it here with a white cotton onsie and adorable jeans with a little ruffle on the bottom of the legs. I can't wait for the cooler weather to come so she can wear this. If you have a little one to knit for and would like the pattern, I found it here on Knitty.com. One of the best things about it is that it has buttoned sides and is adjustable so she can wear it for a long time. This is a great bonus when you are talking about baby clothes, since they can grow out of things in less time then it takes for you to make it for them!

And the Lion Won...

We have one of those baby gyms with the bars that curve over the baby and have things hanging down for them to play with. Eowyn's has a lion, and she spent about 20 mintues trying to get that thing in her mouth. Unfortunately, the hand that she's attached to still eludes her from time to time, so the Lion was able to escape every time she got his feet close to her mouth. She eventually fell asleep, as the Lion swayed above her head...sort of mocking her...

I'm ready for my close up...

There has been a serious lack of photos of the Sweet Baby Girl lately. So here are a couple from her recent photo shoot at Grammy's house. Thank you Corey and Angela for her cute outfit!

Maggie Kissy Feet

Today Maggie, our English Springer Spaniel, was actually calm enough to lay down on the couch with Christopher and the baby. She started to kiss Eowyn's feet. Eowyn didn't seem sure of what was going on, but Maggie seemed pretty proud of her "baby caring for" ability. It was very cute. I unfortunately didn't get a pick prior to Maggie being over zealous and making an attempt at hands and face...that was when she was told to get off the couch. Eowyn can't get her feet to her mouth yet, but hands and face seemed off limits to the affections of someone who eats rocks and licks herself.

"It's Poop on me Elmo"

We are going to give cloth diapers a try once the sweet baby girl is a little bigger, poops a little less often and we have a laundry room (right now we have a laundry hallway with scarely enough room for 1 hamper). But in the mean time, we are making great use of all the wonderful diapers that were given to us at showers.

My husband rolled his eyes when he saw the pampers that had Sesame Street characters on them...based on his strong dislike for all licensed characters (he's not biased, he feels the same lack of love for Disney and Nickelodeon).

We used all the other diapers first (mainly because the Pampers seemed a little bigger then the rest) and we are down to the Sesame Street Endorsed Waste Catchers, and Christopher has now found a plus...Eowyn gets to poop on Elmo!

Needless to say we will not be running out to pick up the New TMX Elmo...and we're hoping no one else does so on our behalf.

Wiggles and Giggles!

Eowyn is now 6 weeks old! She has been much more interactive when she's awake lately. She smiles at you instead of just smiling randomly now. She giggles from time to time...and wiggles a lot!

This girl is ready to MOVE. Her legs are moving almost all the time. She likes to push off so anytime her feet hit a solid surface she straightens her legs. It's very cute, but makes feeding harder, since she keeps pushing herself away from the source of the food, seems frustrated the "food moved", then has to get settled eating again, only to wiggle her legs around until she finds a way to push off again.

Despite the interrupted feedings, she's growing like crazy! She weighs 10lbs 6oz! Christopher figured out that if she keeps growing at this rate until she's 1 year old, so will weigh 50 pounds. I assured him the growth will level out and she will not be a 50 pound toddler!



Here is the Sweet Baby Girl playing with her doll. If I put the doll's arm into Eowyn's hand, she'll grab on and flop the doll around, trying to get it in her mouth. She likes to play like this on her back, but still is not fond of tummy time. She also enjoys the baby swing we bought, though it usually puts her to sleep. Her favorite activity is still be walked by someone, anyone, me, her dad, her grandparents, as long as she's moving she's happy.
